Remineralization of the tooth enamel is carried out in the dental clinic S.I.Y. Dental with the help of specially developed means for its carrying out. Usually, the tooth surface "fills" the lack of useful components on its own. However, human food contains dyes and other harmful components. Ecology, a way of life are also affected. All this makes it necessary to carry out remineralization procedures systematically.
Remineralization of the teeth is used as preventive dental diseases. The procedure has a therapeutic effect in case of serious damage to the enamel. If in the first case you can manage on your own, in the second you need specialist intervention.
After remineralization the sensitivity of teeth decreases, the risk of caries development decreases. Remineralization is often combined with the removal of tartar, and teeth whitening.
This procedure helps maintain the stability of the enamel to caries. Remineralization of the teeth is usually performed in dental clinics.
Remineralizing therapy should be carried out not only in case of high sensitivity of teeth, but also for prevention of caries. Since the age of 6, dentists have recommended that the enamel be remineralized, enriching enamel with calcium and phosphates and then introducing fluoride preparations. Fluoride and phosphorus are the elements that can prevent caries.
Under favorable conditions, the remineralization of tooth enamel can occur even without special effects on the teeth. Tooth enamel is remineralized by itself, if the body gets enough of the necessary minerals to the teeth and the person adheres to simple rules of oral hygiene. But the living conditions of modern man (his food, for example) are such that the processes of destruction dominate the processes of recovery.
However, a person can slightly help the tooth enamel remineralize, using various means for oral hygiene, for example, rinsers, toothpastes, flosses with fluoride, calcium, hydroxyapatite, phosphorus. This is preventive measures, but with a mechanical damage to the enamel, hypoplasia (a violation of the structure and mineralization of the tooth tissues in the period of their formation) and with a significant shortage of the listed elements in the body, toothpaste does not work any more.
Fluoridation of teeth is more serious event. Fluoridation of teeth includes the use of various gels, liquids, fluorolacs, which include substances that enhance the remineralizing properties of fluoride ions. The procedure can be performed one or more times, depending on the drug chosen. It is either applied to the teeth with a brush or used in kappa (devices that are fixed on the teeth).
For the remineralization of enamel, fluoride-free preparations containing elements as important to the teeth as calcium and phosphates are also used. They enhance the effect of fluoridation, as they are components of fluorapatite, from which, in fact, the remineralized enamel of the tooth consists.
But is it possible to strengthen tooth enamel over the entire thickness, and not just its outer surface? This is possible with electrophoresis of calcium ions or fluorine. In this case, ions of calcium or fluorine are introduced into the enamel by means of a small voltage.
There is also a procedure for deep fluoridation of teeth. In stages, two liquids are applied to the teeth: the first penetrates into the pores of the breaking enamel, and the second stimulates the reaction inside the pores. Due to this, microcrystals of a calcium and fluoride compound are formed in the depth of the enamel. With this procedure, the concentration of fluoride ions becomes 5 times greater than with conventional fluoridation of teeth. In addition, the toxic effect of fluorides, which are part of one of the fluids, is neutralized. Due to this, the enamel is remineralized for a long time, since the ions of calcium and fluorine practically do not wash out and can not be removed from the surface of the enamel.
Basically, all methods of remineralization of tooth enamel are preventive, firming and fight only with superficial caries. And with mechanical damage to the enamel, it can not be recreated, so remineralizing therapy does not help, and you have to do dental fillings.
Indications for carrying out:
- formation of plaque
- erasability of teeth
- the final stage of sanitation of the oral cavity (complete, complex treatment)
- restoration of teeth after wearing braces and kappas
- preventive measures to strengthen enamel (recommended twice a year)
Advantages of conducting:
- protection and prevention of caries
- reduction of hypersensitivity of teeth
- removal of white spots from tooth enamel
- clarification the tooth surface by several tones, returning the natural shine
- normalization of the microflora of the oral cavity
